When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and call the surgery after 11.00 am and once sufficient time has elapsed. Alternatively you can use use eConsult to request your results.
Results are checked every day by your GP, or one of the GP team if your own GP is not available. If there is any need for follow-up, the doctor will make arrangements for you to be contacted.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor. If your results have not been marked as requiring this, but you would still like to discuss the results, you will be offered the first available telephone or face-to-face appointment with your own doctor.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to, unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them and formal arrangements are in place to share information.
If you have been referred to a specialist then you will be contacted independently by the appropriate referral bookings service requesting you to book in. Please state your preferred hospital when booking in, if you haven't already done this with your GP.
