Repeat prescriptions

For clinical governance reasons we are not able to accept repeat prescription requests over the phone at any of our medical centres.

These may be obtained by :

  • Taking your re-order form into the surgery
  • Sending it by post (please provide SAE if you need the signed prescription returning)
  • Taking it to your local chemist
  • Ordering on-line using your own on-line password
  • Through the NHS App (Available for IOS & Android)
  • By sending in an email request on:D-CCG.HolsworthyMC-Prescriptions@nhs.net (for Holsworthy & Hatherleigh patients) and prescriptions.rcmg-stratton@nhs.net (for Stratton patients)

For all routine requests your prescription will be available for you to pick up after 2-4 working days.

If you need an urgent prescription please note that we are unable to provide this instantly and will need you to collect after 5pm on that day unless previously agreed with a clinician.

Please indicate your preferred pharmacy for collection when making the request. Prescriptions can be collected from the reception desk if preferred.

ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION SERVICE

We operate an electronic prescription service in conjunction with local chemists. If you wish to know more or sign up for this then please contact your local chemist. This will not affect the way you request your medications. Please remember that our practices are not able to take prescription requests over the phone.

Remember to order your repeat prescriptions early when the medical centres are closed for Bank Holidays, Christmas or Easter.

If using on-line ordering early you will have to send a message listing your medications as the system does not allow you to order more than one week in advance.

It takes at least 72 hours for the medical centre to process a prescription once it has arrived at reception. If you leave your prescription with a pharmacy then please ask them when your medication is likely to be ready to collect. This may be an additional 48+ hours, or more if medications have to be ordered in.
